My residential engineering experience makes me uniquely qualified to inspect residential foundations.  I have designed thousands of conventionally-reinforced and post-tensioned slab on grade foundations for many of the Houston area's largest production homebuilders (Lennar, Meritage, Chesmar, CastleRock, DesignTech to name a few), and for many custom homebuilders as well.  I don't know of any structural engineers in Houston, who perform residential foundation inspections, who have the residential foundation design background that I have.  In fact, most engineers that I know of who inspect residential foundations do not have any residential design experience.  Design experience is critical to understanding how residential foundations are designed and thus how they are intended to perform.

I am a licensed Structural Engineer. Some engineers in this business are mechanical or chemical engineers; my formal education and all that I have done in my career has been purely structural work.
